A cultural and economic driver during the winter season, Winter Lights is an Illuminated, large-scale, light-based, and interactive art festival perfect for ALL ages. Slated to take place January 30 – February 8, 2026, Winter Lights supports businesses by bringing foot traffic within the downtown corridor and endorsing a shop, stay, and play aspect into all marketing channels. Attendees travel to Downtown Coeur d’Alene for Winter Lights, but from there, attendees organically spend in retail and restaurants and enjoy playing in their local community. During the slowest and darkest time of year, businesses and community members unite to lift people’s spirits and support local businesses. At the inaugural event in January 2024, attendees spent on average $200 during their visit, boosting the economy during the slowest time of the year.
