The Coeur d’Alene Symphony Orchestra is composed of 50-80 musicians and originally began as the North Idaho Chamber Orchestra in 1980. For more than 40 years, the symphony has brought the gift of classical music to North Idaho while led by seasoned and exciting conductors who are nationally and internationally recognized.
The symphony works to create a flourishing musical environment for our communities through musical excellence. Each season has five vibrant concerts that include the great classical compositions we know and love, as well as Broadway favorites, movie scores and holiday tunes . The symphony strives to work in partnership with community leaders to provide cultural enrichment for all.
Music Director Danh Pham brings an impressive background to the CDA Symphony. He is currently the Associate Professor of Music at Washington State University. He also serves as Conductor of the WSU Symphony Orchestra and Director of Bands at WSU. Additionally, he directs the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and conducts the WSU Opera and Musical Theater. He has also conducted and performed internationally in places like China, Vietnam and Canada.
