Mac & Cheese Festival

Join us for the Annual Mac & Cheese Festival on January 13, 2024!  The Mac & Cheese Festival celebrates your favorite childhood dish by featuring variations carefully prepared by local chefs who will be competing for the Golden Noodle Award! Attendees will enjoy a comfort-food-filled day tasting different cheesy dishes with perfect craft beer pairings and get to vote for their favorite dish to help award the People’s Choice Trophy! BRIE-lief us, tickets will sell out – get yours now just in QUESO!

Event requires walking short distances outdoors from venue to venue. All sites are ADA accessible.

HOLY MACARONI, you may have noticed the à la carte Mac & Cheese tickets on our website are SOLD OUT. Don’t fret cheese lovers, there are still opportunities for you to enjoy the gooey goodness!

It’s GOUDA news

1.) Buy Tickets! Select your starting package and check-in time frame and from there you can opt to purchase additional mac/beer tastings individually for just $2 or extra tasting bundles. All gourmet mac tasters are a 1/4 cup serving.

  • Lunch Session: Check-in time frame 11 am - 1 pm. Serving starts at Noon.
  • Dinner Session: Check-in time frame 2 pm - 4 pm.
    This is just your check-in time frame. Serving ends at 6 pm.

2) Show Up! Check in at your selected time frame at the Plaza Shops (210 E. Sherman Ave.) to receive your tasting passport, tickets, and glassware (if applicable). If you selected the Mac Daddy package, you will check in at the Resort and bypass the lines!

3) Let's Eat! Travel from site to site indulging in gourmet mac and craft beer! Some past fan favorites include Mac & Cheese Tacos, Mac & Cheese waffle cones and even Cheesy Gelato!! Just exchange a ticket for a sample and you will be in Mac & Cheese heaven! Don't forget to vote for your favorite to help award the Peoples' Choice Noodle!

Judges will be participating during the event starting at noon and ending approximately at 5 pm.

Meet this year's Mac & Cheese Festival Judging Panel!

Mark Robitaille - Mark moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID in 2004 where he took the position of V.P. for Tourism with the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce.  He then took a position at Silverwood Theme Park as the Director of Marketing and Communications where he spent 9 ½ years. He is back to his tourism marketing roots as the executive director for the Coeur d’Alene Convention and Visitors Bureau. He has extensive non-profit experience both as staff in management positions and in volunteer board positions.  He has served on the board of directors and was chairman of the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation, the board of directors of the EXCEL Foundation, is a current board member for the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce and is a former Rotarian providing 10 years of community service and financial support. Mark has also been a member of the tourism committees in Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, and Sandpoint, ID.

Kris Kilduff - Kris Kilduff is crafted of 77% smoked gouda, 20% gnocchi and 3% ice cream sandwich. He has been a freelance food writer for 8+ years writing for local publications as Spokane CDA Magazine and Spokesman Review as well as national blogs like Eater.com.

Eliza Billingham - Eliza Billingham is a staff writer for the Inlander. She reports mainly on food in the Inland Northwest, covering everything from farm to chef to table. Born and raised in the Midwest, she grew up with a deep affection for cheese. Though she flirted with veganism in her early twenties, she is now a happy, adventurous omnivore — her affair with plants only deepened her love of bold flavors and crave-worthy combinations. She's continually delighted by the bounty her new home has to offer, and is excited to put her lactose tolerance to good use.

Ryan "Mac" - For the last 9 years, Ryan has been an Executive Chef throughout different restaurants within the PNW. Most recently the Executive Chef at Paragon Brewing and Westwood Brewing, Ryan won the Golden Noodle in 2018 and 2019. Currently a Restaurant Consultant for Sysco Foods, Ryan is happy to judge for his 4th year in a row.

Chef Joshua Lozano - Joshua Lozano, was born and sun-kissed in California, but he has not always been a master of smoke and flame. His journey began in the stark contrast of the New York mountains, nestled in his grandparents' rustic cabin cooking with his grandmother on their cast iron stove. Joshua is self taught through intense ranks of the kitchen. He has worked in everything from farm houses to fine dining and private tables of celebrities in Hollywood. Throughout the years  he learned the art of slow cooking, the dance of fire and wood, the language of smoke whispering through cast iron.

Keith Boe - Keith Boe, Founder & Director of North Idaho Cuisine, a 34,000 member group dedicated to the North Idaho Culinary Experience featuring many local well known restaurants and chefs. Entrepreneur, Restauranteur, Founder of Iron Pizza Co. & Taphouse, former director of Sizzle and Cuisine Magazine and claim to fame is he cooked for Gordon Ramsay.
